Investment Trusts - Warrants

Warrants are not shares but the right to buy a share at a fixed price at a pre-determined date or within a specific period.

  • Warrants don’t produce any income.
  • The price is only a fraction of the share price.
  • Can be bought and sold on the Stock Exchange until their final exercise date.
  • If held beyond the exercise date they have no value.
  • Taxed under CGT rules
