Main features

pensions in payment are fully inflation protected;

the treatment given to members on early retirement is usually superior to private sector schemes, particularly where early retirement is due to ill-health; and

Belong to the Transfer Club, which allows members to transfer to another public sector or public service scheme and have their full pensionable service credited in the new scheme.

The LGPS is funded but the other 6 are unfunded. However these schemes are guaranteed by the state and government so there shouldn’t be any worry.
